Privacy Policy

This policy explains what BeHeld ("we," "us") collects when you sign up, RSVP, or attend an event, and how we use it.

1. Who we are

BeHeld runs in-person community events in New York City and a companion app for members. Contact: lynette@beheld.love.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of vendors to run BeHeld. We do not sell your data.

Luma — event registration and RSVP management
Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles your card details directly; we never see or store full card numbers.
Supabase — our backend and authentication provider, including Google sign-in
Google — if you choose "Sign in with Google"
Klaviyo — email communications (event reminders, newsletters) and our waitlist sign-up form
Google Analytics (GA4) — website analytics, to understand site usage in aggregate
Analytics providers, to understand product usage in aggregate

Each of these vendors processes data under their own privacy terms, which you can find on their respective sites.

4. How other members see your information

BeHeld is a community product, and some of what you share is visible to other members by design:

Your profile ("shelf") is visible to other attendees of an event you've RSVP'd to, for a limited window described in the app.
Notes, questions, and vouches you post or receive follow the visibility and consent rules explained where you post them.
Your mailing address, phone number, date of birth, and payment information are never shown to other members.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 10 business days, except where we're required to keep records (e.g., payment records for tax purposes, typically 7 years).

6. Your choices

You can:

Access or correct your information by emailing lynette@beheld.love
Delete your account at any time from your profile settings
Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any email
Ask what data we hold about you

7. Children's privacy

BeHeld is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account or attend an event.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify active members by email before the changes take effect.
